About The Position

The Industrial Engineering team functions as the drivers of Operational Excellence (OpX) at Pratt & Whitney. We work to create the methods and standards for our manufacturing processes, as well as develop and lead initiatives across the site to improve operations, assembly, test, etc. As part of this team, you will be working to strengthen the IE discipline onsite and drive the use of lean manufacturing methodologies to maximize the success of our business units. The Asheville Value Stream Industrial Engineer will be responsible for macro level analysis of the product portfolio as it applies to SIOP, LRP and what-if studies. The candidate will consolidate and analyze value stream level data in order to drive site-level capacity initiatives to meet customer demand.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • US Citizenship is required due to government contracts.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 6 years’ of prior relevant experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Systems Engineering, or Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Management.
  • Ability to organize details into a macro view of the total organization
  • Able to present and communicate clearly to executive level audiences
  • Data mining & manipulation experience with advanced Excel (VBA, SQL, other methods a plus)
  • Strong analytical, creative thinking and project management skills
  • Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with other engineers, technicians, operators, and management.
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimal direction

Responsibilities

  • Conduct machine capacity analysis to determine what increase in efficiency (OEE) is required to meet network standards.
  • Evaluate the effects of product design changes to business capacity.
  • Develop methods and/or models to increase productivity, maximize efficiency and manage human capital more effectively.
  • Recommend capital investment strategy to meet value stream product delivery, cost targets, and optimal location of asset.
  • Ability to translate and communicate the capacity, headcount, and capital into presentations for Enterprise use in quarterly, yearly and long-term planning.
  • Support long-term planning for the Module Center and the Business Units.
  • Evaluate the effects of schedule and demand changes to the business as it pertains to meeting monthly production.
