Requirements

  • Must have a Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering Degree/Diploma, or applicable trade.
  • Professional 5+ year in the automotive industry: Specialized knowledge & know how.
  • Conducts higher-level analysis.
  • Prioritizes tasks to take action, works with partial responsibility and minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical knowledge and expertise to ensure robust manufacturing process through Kaizen workshop and time and motion studies.
  • Manage manufacturing performance deliverables such as implementation of CI suggestions, process flows and plant layouts.
  • Support technical and manufacturing solutions; including engineering and line balancing, to achieve goals and objectives relating to research and development, organizational projects and services for continuous improvement and risk reduction.
  • Apply technical knowledge and expertise to manage/plan new projects for building modifications and support new product launches.
  • Oversee plant and building facilities maintenance including upkeep and preventative maintenance for building, outbuildings, and grounds.
  • Responsible for material flow (plant-wide Value Stream Mapping/VSM).
  • Must have demonstrated track record of initiating and implementing process cost reductions in Lean Manufacturing environment.

  • Provide hand-on troubleshooting of new equipment and be capable of working with all disciplines to promote team participation
  • Support Preventative Maintenance Program development for all manufacturing process equipment
  • Review facilities and equipment requirements with relevant internal and external customers/suppliers
  • Completing all required APQP-related activities, ECR processes, PRP (8D), and all other Quality Management System requirements relating to industrial engineering.
  • Conduct time studies, identify capacity constraints and opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Design/Implement changes to work cell layouts using AutoCAD for all departments.
  • Responsible to initiate Kaizen workshop for under-performing work cells.
  • Train operations staff for any new processes and provide instructions.
  • Responsible for analyzing operations, designing work flow and production processes, reducing inefficiency and ensuring that final products meet the established quality standards.
  • Design layout of equipment, materials, workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency.
  • Develop manufacturing methods, labour utilization standards and cost analysis systems to meet company standards.
  • Ensure, with the cooperation of other Co-Ex-Tec departments and Corporate that the division achieves and maintains the highest possible Customer rating for satisfaction; strive for zero defects in all areas of the business.
  • Ensure and promote all safety standards, safe operating procedures, good housekeeping practices, all safety issues conforming to the “Occupational Health and Safety Act” and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times.
  • Ensure compliance and enforcement of Customer Specific Requirements, QMS (IATF16949), Health and Safety (ISO 45001), EMS (ISO14001), and security (PIP) requirements.
  • Perform, direct, and carry out any and all other assignments from time to time as management directs
