About The Position

The Industrial Engineer partners closely with Operations and cross‑functional engineering teams to design, improve, and optimize manufacturing processes and factory layouts. This is a highly collaborative, hands‑on role that requires regular presence on the manufacturing floor—observing work, engaging directly with operators and technicians, and translating insights into practical, data‑driven improvements. The ideal candidate is energized by solving complex problems, applying Lean / Six Sigma methodologies, and delivering measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role plays a critical part in enabling efficient, scalable, and safe manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with: AutoCAD
  • Standard Work development
  • Cell and layout design
  • Time studies, takt and cycle time analysis
  • Capacity analysis
  • Process mapping and flow optimization
  • 5S implementation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, effective documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to engage operators and technicians directly and be present on the manufacturing floor to solve problems at the source.

Responsibilities

  • Design and improve factory layouts, including new cell design, line balancing, and equipment placement.
  • Conduct time observations and perform takt time, cycle time, and capacity analyses for labor and equipment.
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve Standard Work, process maps, and end‑to‑end product flow.
  • Identify and eliminate waste, constraints, and bottlenecks using Lean / Six Sigma tools.
  • Support the implementation and sustainment of 5S and visual management standards.
  • Define requirements for cell builds, tooling, and equipment installations; communicate clearly through strong technical documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with Operations, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Quality, Facilities, EHS, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Spend regular time on the manufacturing floor to observe processes firsthand, engage employees performing the work, and validate improvements.
