About The Position

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for an Industrial Engineer to join their team in Linthicum, MD. The role involves working closely with the manufacturing leadership team to monitor labor and capital resource performance, develop improvement plans, coordinate facility capital plan execution, define and document process designs (product routings), and use/maintain models for standard work assignment. The position also includes leading Continuous Improvement activities such as 5-S, VSM, and 6-Sigma, and may involve establishing accident prevention measures and managing training programs for production operations personnel. The successful candidate will be assigned to a manufacturing cell and paired with an experienced lead Industrial Engineer, with the expectation of quickly gaining the skills to either take over the lead role or manage a single IE manufacturing cell.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or another STEM area with 2 years of experience in Industrial Engineering Operations and/or Manufacturing Engineering; Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or another STEM area with experience in Industrial Engineering Operations and/or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Active/Current U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • An advanced degree (MS)
  • Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or automotive industries
  • Technical experience working in a manufacturing/production environment

Responsibilities

  • Monitor labor performance and develop plans for improvement
