About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for an Associate or Experienced Industrial Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to join our dynamic team at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and production of the CST-100 Starliner spacecraft, which is designed to transport crew to the International Space Station and beyond. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2+ years of experience with Industrial Engineering or a similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)
  • Experience with Industrial Engineering information systems and tools
  • Experience leading improvement projects using continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience in the following areas: Adaptability, Analytical Skills, Business Acumen, Communication, Decision Making, Initiative, Leadership, and Teamwork
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
  • Must obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of the assembly precedence networks
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action for manufacturing issues
  • Work with operations management to remove roadblocks and prioritize work
  • Utilize a systems-thinking approach to develop creative solutions for complex problems and drive consensus on technical decisions
  • Employ a variety of communication styles to ensure stakeholder and customer satisfaction through project updates, including presentations to program leadership
