Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
2+ years of experience in engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

Provides process time estimation to the quote team.
Simulates process, materials, and manufacturing workflow, providing input to the process engineer using REFA, MOST, WITNESS, or adequate tools.
Coordinates process planning and setup during NPI with respect to takt, cycle time, and direct labor requirements.
Reviews results during prototyping and trial runs, providing feedback to the NPI and sales team.
Conducts work measurement programs and examines work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
Examines staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data (e.g., production costs, process flow charts, production schedules) to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchasing equipment.
Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
May develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
Develops management control systems for financial planning and cost reviews, and designs production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
Designs or improves systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, and defines the most efficient plant locations.
Manages and supports initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost, and improve performance in constrained areas like Lean, Automation, and/or Six Sigma projects.
