About The Position

The Operations Improvement (OI) Engineer on the Scheduling team within Industrial Engineering develops and optimizes manufacturing scheduling, dispatching, automation, and analytics solutions that drive fab performance. This role combines Industrial Engineering, software development, data analytics, simulation, and emerging AI/ML technologies to improve cycle time, throughput, equipment utilization, and operational effectiveness. The engineer works closely with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Planning, Automation, IT, and Global OI teams to implement data-driven solutions that directly impact semiconductor manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Operations Research, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Fundamental knowledge of SQL and at least one programming language such as C#, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or a similar language.
  • Ability to work with data, build technical solutions, and apply analytical methods to solve complex operational challenges.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a strong interest in continuous improvement, automation, and data-driven decision making.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making techniques.
  • Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Exposure to simulation, optimization techniques, or manufacturing systems.
  • Familiarity with automation concepts and software development practices.
  • Good understanding of Agentic AI or willingness to learn Agentic AI to help developed efficient workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance manufacturing scheduling and automation systems that drive factory operations.
  • Analyze operational and manufacturing data to identify opportunities and implement solutions that improve throughput, cycle time, and equipment utilization.
  • Develop analytics, reports, dashboards, ETL pipelines, and performance metrics using tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and cloud technologies.
  • Apply Industrial Engineering principles, simulation, and statistical methods to optimize fab performance and support capacity planning.
  • Investigate production and system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent corrective actions to improve system reliability.
  • Participate in OI on-call rotations supporting business-critical manufacturing systems that run 24/7.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for scheduling, queue-time management, and operational decision-making processes.
  • Lead and support cross-functional projects while collaborating with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Planning, Automation, IT, and Global teams.
