About The Position

The Boeing Company's Test and Evaluation (BT&E) division is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join the Test Operations & Engineering (TO&E) team in Berkeley, MO. This role supports a variety of BT&E activities across Lab Test and Flight Test, collaborating with BDS programs and production operations. The team supports test capabilities such as structures, electromagnetics, aero, and environmental testing, as well as internal fabrication and assembly of test hardware. The ideal candidate will leverage manufacturing operations knowledge and business acumen to partner with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, supplier management, materials management, and program management, to achieve organizational goals. Responsibilities include stabilizing the testing environment, implementing lean methodologies, assessing test readiness, and improving quality through root cause analysis and Business Process System Management (BPSM). Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 5 or more years of experience in Industrial Engineering or similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • 7 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 9 or more years of experience in Industrial Engineering or similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.).
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience in test laboratory operations.
  • Experience with project management.
  • An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
  • Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Responsibilities

  • Apply basic industrial engineering concepts, approaches, and techniques to product, process, and services to meet program requirements.
  • Support the development of plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations, and workflows.
  • Participate in the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into production process and service operations.
  • Assist with designing, maintaining, and optimizing the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
  • Conduct basic work-flow design and analysis.
  • Develop simple models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data and provide summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders.
  • Support research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality for large-scale systems integration and asset utilization.
  • Support implementation plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.
  • Document work instructions and standardize work practices.
  • Support the preparation of operations plans, including work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis, and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met.
  • Support execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling, and shop load practices.
  • Provide production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility, and recovery planning support.
  • Follow compliance requirements with established industry safety, design standards, and ergonomic guidelines.
  • Lead metrics, data analysis, and improvement plans related to team productivity, efficiency, and first-time quality, including Lean+ events, 5S improvement plans, and/or special initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness.
