The Industrial Engineer supports projects involving new and existing business, site consolidations and relocations, and automation solutions. The role also supports the creation, validation, and use of tools and standards across the department and DSV, while following organizational requirements for safety, quality, and financial responsibility. For new or expanding business, the engineer validates customer requirements, develops the overall solution, and implements assigned tasks, providing project managers with updates on timing, status, escalations, and scope changes. For warehouse consolidations, relocations, and new real estate projects, the engineer gathers customer requirements—including electrical, data, IT equipment, material handling equipment, storage, automation, regulatory, and security needs—and coordinates with general contractors on building-shell and property requirements. The role leads the design and implementation of warehouse and distribution-center solutions, including facility layouts, operating processes, equipment, technologies, and automation. It develops project plans and recommendations, coordinates internal and external stakeholders, manages vendor and contractor relationships, and supports commissioning, testing, and operational launches. The engineer may also contribute to standardization, continuous improvement, vendor onboarding, budgeting, and other project activities. Engineering work may focus on new or existing distribution operations. Expected travel is approximately 50%.
