About The Position

The Industrial Engineer position comprises of a balance of technical expertise in data/metric analysis with a strategic drive to create value through process improvements, cost reduction and product improvement. The Industrial Engineer is instrumental in achieving operational excellence through innovation, development, evaluation, and implementation of superior methods and systems. The Industrial Engineer will partner with leadership throughout the organization to understand their business needs and put them in the best position for success by delivering robust continuous improvement plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, NX or equivalent) for layout design, automation cell concepts, tooling fixtures, and process documentation
  • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial controls, with the ability to interface effectively with OEMs, integrators, and maintenance teams for troubleshooting and system optimization
  • Experience developing or supporting automated manufacturing cells, including robotics, conveyors, vision systems, or automated assembly equipment
  • Strong understanding of industrial networks and data connectivity to support machine integration and data capture
  • Ability to interpret and develop electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control narratives
  • Familiarity with manufacturing data systems such as MES, machine monitoring platforms, CMMS, or ERP integrations
  • Experience with capital equipment specification, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and validation
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with manufacturing data analytics tools (Power BI, SQL, or similar preferred)
  • Exposure to robot programming or structured automation programming standards
  • Understanding of cybersecurity considerations in connected manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and implementation of automation opportunities across molding, assembly, machining, material handling, and secondary operations to improve safety, throughput, and cost competitiveness
  • Act as a change agent for digital transformation, promoting a data-driven culture and training teams on new automated and connected manufacturing technologies
  • Serve as the plant technical owner for Industry 4.0 initiatives, including data connectivity, machine monitoring, and digital workflows that enable real-time visibility into production performance
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, IT, and Quality to integrate equipment, sensors, and control systems with existing manufacturing execution, maintenance, and reporting platforms
  • Develop and standardize digital work instructions, automated data capture, and electronic production reporting to reduce manual inputs and improve data accuracy
  • Support capital investment planning by building automation business cases, including ROI analysis, payback modeling, and risk assessment
  • Drive continuous improvement through the use of manufacturing data analytics, identifying trends, constraints, and opportunities for process optimization
  • Support new program launches by ensuring automation readiness, scalable cell design, and alignment with future-state manufacturing strategy
  • Work closely with Finance to maintain BOM system, including the creation of new BOMs and revision of current BOMs.
  • Develop and implement Machine Operator Training Program.
  • Initiate, update and maintain Machine Operator work instructions on a daily basis.
  • Work actively on continuous improvement projects that involve the entire organization such as Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing and Visual Recorder.
  • Work with Manufacturing and all other facets of the organization to improve all ergonomic conditions on presses and machinery, while anticipating/evaluating hazardous conditions by identifying them prior to accident occurrence.
  • Coordinate Safety initiatives and lead Company to resolution on environmental, health and safety issues.
  • Provide guidance for packaging engineering methods and standards on a daily basis. Work with customers to define standard packs and returnable packaging. Work with customers to define and develop alternative packaging.
