About The Position

SoulShine Farms is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to improve productivity, labor efficiency, equipment reliability, and facility operations within our poultry-processing facilities. This hands-on role combines industrial engineering, labor optimization, maintenance planning, and CAD drafting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in industrial engineering, maintenance planning, manufacturing engineering, or a related role.
  • Experience conducting time studies, establishing labor standards, and balancing production lines.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable CAD software.
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance, maintenance planning, and CMMS systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, data analysis, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, equipment manuals, and process diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to hear, speak, read, and comprehend communications in English.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in poultry, meat processing, food manufacturing, or another high-volume production environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, standard work, or Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with food safety, OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and sanitary design.
  • Experience with labor-management software, predetermined-time standards, or other work-measurement systems.
  • Knowledge of equipment reliability, root-cause analysis, and preventive-maintenance optimization.
  • Experience developing plant layouts, fabrication drawings, piping drawings, or utility drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct time-and-motion studies throughout production, packaging, sanitation, warehousing, and support operations.
  • Establish and maintain labor standards by product, process, production line, and SKU.
  • Analyze staffing needs based on production volumes, product mix, equipment capacity, and operating conditions.
  • Balance production lines to reduce bottlenecks, waiting time, unnecessary movement, and idle time.
  • Compare actual labor hours and productivity against established standards.
  • Recommend improvements to work methods, staffing models, plant layouts, and material flow.
  • Develop and monitor productivity measures such as pounds, pieces, or cases per labor hour.
  • Support labor budgeting, forecasting, overtime reduction, and cost-improvement initiatives.
  • Validate and track labor savings following implementation of improvement projects.
  • Develop detailed preventive and corrective maintenance work plans.
  • Define job scope, labor needs, required parts and tools, safety precautions, and estimated completion times.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance with production, sanitation, maintenance, and parts-room personnel.
  • Maintain equipment records, bills of materials, job plans, and preventive-maintenance procedures within the CMMS.
  • Support weekly maintenance scheduling, equipment shutdowns, and planned project work.
  • Review equipment history and recurring failures to improve reliability and maintenance strategies.
  • Help improve schedule compliance, wrench time, equipment availability, and parts readiness.
  • Create and maintain CAD drawings for production lines, equipment, utilities, piping, facilities, and plant layouts.
  • Prepare equipment-placement, process-flow, fabrication, installation, and conceptual layout drawings.
  • Update drawings following equipment moves, facility modifications, and capital projects.
  • Measure existing conditions and support planning of facility and process improvements.
  • Maintain an accurate and organized library of plant drawings and technical documents.
  • Work with vendors, contractors, engineers, and plant personnel to verify accuracy of drawings.
