About The Position

The Industrial Engineer will play a key role within the Automation & Manufacturing Engineering team, driving operational excellence through data‑driven analysis, facility layout optimization, and the development of standardized machine processes. This role supports the full lifecycle of new equipment and automation initiatives—from justification and specification through installation, training, and handover to production. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capability with hands‑on manufacturing experience and a passion for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or automation‑related roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar).
  • Experience with facility layout tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma manufacturing principles, time studies, and standard work development.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and vendor teams.
  • Hands‑on approach with a willingness to be on the production floor to validate processes and support installations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting automation projects or machine integrations.
  • Knowledge of MES, SCADA, or machine data capture systems (e.g., Ignition).
  • Exposure to PFMEA, control plans, and structured problem‑solving methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and optimize facility layouts to support efficient material flow and scalable production capacity.
  • Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity modeling to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross function teams to ensure layouts align with equipment requirements, safety standards, and future expansion plans.
  • Analyze production data, machine performance, labor utilization, and throughput to support development of business cases for new equipment or automation initiatives.
  • Develop ROI models, payback analyses, and scenario comparisons to support capital expenditure requests.
  • Support presentation of complex technical and operational data into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
  • Define and document machine processing steps, including standard work instructions, job aids, and operator workflows.
  • Partner with Automation Manager to ensure machine capabilities, cycle times, and quality requirements are accurately reflected in process documentation.
  • Support PFMEA, control plan development, and risk assessments for new or modified processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between engineering, vendors, and production teams during equipment installation, commissioning, and validation.
  • Coordinate operator training, ensuring readiness for safe and efficient machine operation.
  • Support ramp‑up activities, troubleshoot early‑stage issues, and ensure a smooth transition to steady‑state production.
  • Maintain project documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives post‑launch.
