Industrial Engineer/Process Improvement Intern

Our team designs and manufactures precision-molded seals, gaskets, and custom rubber components that perform in the most demanding environments. This role will support manufacturing engineering and operations by analyzing production processes, maintaining manufacturing routers, and conducting time studies to improve efficiency and documentation accuracy.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in: Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (assembly, machining, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to break down processes into clear, structured steps
- Comfortable working in a shop floor environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, basic analysis)
- Strong written communication skills for documentation
Nice To Haves
- Coursework or experience in: Time studies / work measurement (MTM, stopwatch studies, etc.)
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Experience creating process documentation, SOPs, or flowcharts
- Exposure to CAD or manufacturing drawings
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing production processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Document workflows, standard work instructions, and process steps clearly and accurately
- Support creation, review, and updates of manufacturing routers (BOMs, labor steps, run times, etc.)
- Conduct time studies and collect production data on the shop floor
- Assist with process validation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams
