About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Industrial Engineer / Principal Industrial Engineer – Master Production Scheduling (MPS) to support their Master Production Scheduling team within the Industrial Engineering Operations Management group (IEOM). This candidate will join a team of qualified, diverse individuals on site in Iuka, MS. Due to the nature of this role, this position requires an on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely. The Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations. This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. A start date, for candidates selected, will be determined after obtaining both a DOD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access and is contingent upon Business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 1 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master’s degree with 0 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience (for Level 2)
  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master’s degree with 3 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience, OR a PhD and 0 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience (for Level 3)
  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES), MRP/SAP/Oracle or related experience
  • Experience leading teams or projects.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, excel, including macros and pivot tables.
  • Experience with data mining/data analysis.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security Clearance and Special Program Access (PAR) prior to staring as required by the business prior to commencement of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, developing and coordinating the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to meet all objectives
  • Ensuring manufacturing schedules are horizontally and vertically integrated
  • Implementing scheduling best practices as prescribed by industry to include, but not limited to: Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Critical Path Analysis, Schedule Risk Assessment (SRA), Schedule Performance, Health Metrics and Analysis
  • Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently.
  • Build scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints
  • Develops optimized scheduling tools and align SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraint.
  • Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams.
  • Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers.
  • Guides digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies.
  • Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies.
  • Creates new metrics and data visualizations to track performance.
  • Provides weekly and monthly status and reporting
  • Tracking plans and schedules
  • Creating, maintaining and validating Schedule data
  • Performing risk analysis and management
  • Identifying and resolving critical path and network logic conflicts
  • Utilizing Gantt, milestone charts, Earned Value Management (EVM) and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances
