  • Understanding and application of broad range of industrial engineering tools (ie. Work measurement, process mapping, facilities and workstation design, etc.)
  • Understanding of Jabil’s global strategies and direction
  • Understanding of site’s facilities, capabilities and how they tie back to the Jabil strategies and direction
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Able to implement continuous improvements and cost reduction programs
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and continuously improve daily quality/efficiency performance for assigned areas.
  • Design and procure production tooling, processing equipment and workstations.
  • Coordinate layout and workstation move activities.
  • Prepares time estimates for proposed projects and evaluates time factors.
  • Minimize change over time by ensuring programs use common set-ups where possible.
  • Verify that machine maintenance is being performed on schedule.
  • Reduce machine-generated scrap by monitoring machine management data and taking corrective action to improve or correct the operations.
  • Reduce manual assembly scrap by monitoring quality data and taking corrective action to improve or correct the operations.
  • Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ability to manage variability in demand, product mix, and routing complexity
  • Ability to extract, validate, and interpret production data to drive decisions
  • Understanding of how test processes impact capacity, flow, and cycle time
  • Experience working closely with ME, TE, QE, and Operations to resolve real-time issues
  • Not just reporting metrics — driving decisions and implementation
  • Ability to clearly communicate capacity, efficiency, and improvement plans to internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive takt alignment, line balancing, and headcount optimization across high-mix / low-to-medium volume builds
  • Ensure alignment between IE standards, actual floor performance, and customer commit (UPH, OEE, cycle time)
  • Develop and validate process flows, line layouts, and capacity models for new builds
  • Ensure readiness for ramp (tools, fixtures, labor standards, layouts) prior to build start
  • Support DFM/DFA discussions with ME/TE/QE and customer teams
  • Identify bottlenecks using data (MES, SAP, manual studies) and implement improvements
  • Partner with Test Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to reduce test and process cycle times
  • Lead structured problem-solving (RCA, Pareto, time studies)
  • Define and track line readiness, staffing models, and expected vs. actual performance during validation
  • Ensure proper data collection (cycle time, yield impact, rework loops) to feed into product/process decisions
  • Maintain and validate labor standards against real production conditions
  • Drive opportunities to reduce indirect labor, improve operator utilization, and optimize staffing models
  • Actively support RCCA activities tied to capacity shortfalls, delivery misses, or inefficiencies
  • Provide data-driven insights during internal and customer-facing reviews
  • Ensure consistency in time studies, line layouts, process maps, and capacity models across the site
  • Drive adherence to global IE standards while adapting to site-specific needs
  • Develop accurate labor and cycle time assumptions based on actual 16th St capabilities
  • Partner with program and finance teams to ensure quoted models reflect floor realities
