About The Position

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for day-to-day electrical maintenance and repair activities required for equipment and facilities. In this role, you will meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning as well as establish the long-term planning through a facilities and equipment preventative maintenance program.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Industrial Electrician Card or 5 years equivalent industrial electrician experience.
  • Collaborative team player, willing to take ownership of decisions and be a results-oriented self-starter.
  • Able to work effectively in all environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Experience leading initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous knowledge of preventative maintenance systems a plus.
  • Experience with Okuma, Makino, WFL and Pama equipment.
  • Fanuc and Siemens controls expertise.
  • Experience with older manual and automatic grinding equipment a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including but not limited to numerical controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions.
  • Install, start up, and shut down, equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and in line with OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain housekeeping of work area and equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics to troubleshoot equipment faults and failures.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 and 79 codes and their applications to meet national, state, and local codes.
  • Experience and ability to work with AC and DC voltages up to and including 480 volts.
  • Install and repair electric motors of all types.
  • Ability to diagnose and program VFD’s as necessary.
