About The Position

This role is for an Industrial Electrician responsible for maintaining and improving electrical systems in a food production environment. The position involves troubleshooting, repair, installation, and optimization of machinery and control systems. The company emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and adherence to food safety and environmental policies. This is a challenging role in a fast-paced environment where each day presents unique tasks.

Requirements

  • Industrial Electrician License (442A) or 309A is required.
  • 3-5 years of industrial, electrical, and mechanical experience, preferably in the food industry.
  • General knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and ability to assist all tradespeople as required.
  • Problem-solving skills and good communication skills are required.
  • Comfortable using computers.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently.
  • Comfortable with occasional heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where every day can bring new and unique challenges.
  • Ability to work a flexible shift day/afternoon/night, Sunday to Saturday.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Food industry experience preferred.
  • Refrigeration Operator license an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform PLC and HMI programming changes and troubleshooting, including modification and calibration of equipment such as weight scales, VFDs, Servomotors, and network communications.
  • Repair, troubleshoot, and install machinery, including electrical and electronic equipment, control systems, and automation.
  • Conduct electrical wiring and testing of automated systems.
  • Optimize equipment safety, efficiency, and reliability by participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules.
  • Comply with all applicable legislative and Bakery food safety, health and safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Service, clean, and perform preventative maintenance and overhaul on all production and bakery equipment.
  • Continually improve equipment function via design improvements.
  • Ensure work area is clean of debris and hazards at all times, checking for hazards upon arrival and departure from each work area.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with legislated and company health and safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
