About The Position

This role actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.” The Industrial Electrician will represent the Company with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.” The position involves assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctioning systems, components, and apparatus to locate and correct the cause of breakdowns, connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components, and inspecting electrical systems for hazards, defects, and compliance with codes. The role also requires advising management on potential hazards of continued equipment operation, testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits, planning electrical layout and installation based on job specifications and local codes, and maintaining a current electrician's license. The position requires working well with supervision, identifying and correcting safety hazards, and performing other job-related duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Must hold current Washington State (EL01) General Journey Level electrical license.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of electrical, industrial or refinery maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of industry hand and power tools.
  • Complete the Matrix Service Safety training and Client/Site specific training.
  • Must obtain and maintain active status within the drug testing program.
  • MSHA certification is required or must be obtained prior to starting work.

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Maintain current electrician's license to meet governmental regulations.
  • Work well with supervision.
  • Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision
