About The Position

The Industrial Electrician maintains and repairs electrical systems, equipment, and controls within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures electrical systems operate safely and efficiently by performing troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs on plant equipment and machinery while supporting overall production operations.

Requirements

  • At least one to three years of experience working in a manufacturing environment and electrical drafting experience.
  • Some form of formal electrical training such as: Union apprentice, Military training, Industrial experience, Trade school, or College.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to read and simple reference electrical schematic and drawings.
  • Ability to work with live 480 VAC 3 phase systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Proficiency using electrical test instruments.
  • Ability to wire electrical panels from schematics.
  • Demonstrates basic mathematical aptitude, skills in basic mathematical calculations, decimals and fractions.
  • Understands quality, PPE requirements and safety and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures.

  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience or training.
  • Human/Machine interface (HMI) experience or training.
  • Industrial Ethernet experience or training.
  • Industrial control network experience or training.
  • Industrial vision inspection systems experience or training.
  • Punch press OSHA controls requirements experience or training.
  • Servo motor experience or training.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots 480VAC 3 phase motor control circuits.
  • Troubleshoots industrial control circuits.
  • Modifies circuits in industrial machines and systems.
  • Changes all size motors from fractional to 500 H.P.
  • Troubleshoots PLC systems.
  • Installs control systems for rebuilds or new systems.
  • Installs and testing Ethernet networks.
  • Troubleshoots and installing VFD motor controls.
  • Disassembles defective electrical equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment.
  • Responsible for replacing all fuses, light sockets, bulbs and switches.
  • Performs other duties assigned from management.
