About The Position

iWorkforce Solutions is seeking a skilled and reliable Industrial Electrician for a direct-hire placement with our client in Northwest Houston. In this role, you will plan layout, install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, control equipment, and apparatus in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrical License is required (Must present license prior to manager interview).
  • Two-year degree in Electrical Technology (or related field) AND a minimum of 2 years of industrial field experience OR Minimum of 5 years of direct industrial electrical experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Hands-on experience with electronics and solid-state devices (drives, programmable automation controllers, radio controls, metering equipment).
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, safety rules, and operating/maintenance manuals.
  • Proficiency in basic math concepts, plane/solid geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, and ratios.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills to collect data, establish facts, and solve complex electrical issues.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, man lift, and basic computer/software applications.
  • Must regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Good vision (close, color, depth perception) is required.
  • Applicants may be required to verify U.S. Person status (U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, or protected individual) or eligibility to obtain required export authorizations.

Nice To Haves

  • Numerical Control (CNC) experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan new or modified electrical installations to minimize material waste, ensure future maintenance accessibility, and adhere strictly to local electrical codes and specifications.
  • Prepare sketches or follow diagrams, schematics, ladder diagrams, and blueprints for equipment and wiring placement.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit; pull wiring through conduit; splice and terminate wires safely.
  • Connect wiring to lighting fixtures, power equipment, machinery, and power distribution apparatus (switches, relays, circuit-breaker panels).
  • Test circuit continuity using standard testing instruments to ensure electrical compatibility and safety; observe installed systems to identify potential hazards or needed repairs.
  • Analyze, calibrate, adjust, and repair faulty electrical or electronic systems, components, and circuitry under actual operating conditions.
  • Discuss layouts, assembly procedures, and design details with supervision and engineering teams; recommend changes to simplify maintenance.
  • Set up standard or custom test apparatus to conduct functional, operational, and live tests on production equipment.
