About The Position

The Industrial Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining production equipment to optimize run ability through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machines. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, along with the aptitude to correct system failures. The technician will utilize excellent electrical/electronic skills (PLCs, A/C, D/C motors and drives, schematics) and mechanical skills (pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, lubrication) in a continuous process-manufacturing environment to achieve machine uptime metrics. The position involves dismantling devices, examining parts for defects, installing and repairing parts, lubricating and cleaning equipment, and testing performance. Additionally, the role includes operating metalworking tools to fabricate or repair parts, moving heavy equipment with mechanical aids, and performing plant startup tasks. Responsibilities also encompass installing power supply wiring and conduit, connecting power supply wires, replacing faulty electrical and electronic components (relays, switches, motors, sensors, drives, PLC components, circuit boards), rewiring motors, and diagnosing/replacing faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components. The technician will also be responsible for cleaning the work area and using a computer for work order entry and status updates. The work environment is typically loud, with exposure to moving machinery, various energy sources, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and high temperatures. The role requires working on elevated platforms, in confined or awkward positions, and involves significant physical demands including lifting and moving heavy objects.
