About The Position

This position will focus on troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving electrical systems, especially those controlled by PLCs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and installing programs for various applications, and leading electrical projects. Additionally, you will collaborate with the maintenance team to address electrical issues, ensuring optimal operation and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of industrial electrical or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Strong proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar platforms).
  • Deep understanding of electrical systems, including wiring, troubleshooting, and installation.
  • Knowledge of high and low voltage single phase and three phase wiring.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and industry safety standards.
  • Experience with industrial automation, control systems, and related technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • 480V and 240V three-phase electrical systems, including troubleshooting motors, starters, disconnects, breakers, transformers, and control circuits.
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc-flash safety, PPE, and electrical safe-work practices, with working knowledge of applicable OSHA requirements and NFPA 70E electrical safety practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable OSHA electrical safety requirements and NFPA 70E electrical safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints.
  • Experience with electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and Repair Electrical Issues: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in PLC-controlled machines, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency in production.
  • PLC Programming and Installation: Program, build, and commission new PLC systems to meet specific operational and process requirements.
  • Electrical Project Management: Lead and oversee ongoing and upcoming electrical projects, coordinating efforts with different departments to meet project timelines.
  • Assist Maintenance Personnel: Provide support to the maintenance team for electrical and automation-related issues. Offer technical assistance to ensure the smooth functioning of all systems.
  • Breaker Panel Inventory: Manage the detailed inventory of all breaker panels, documenting what equipment they control and ensuring the records are accurate and up to date.
  • Preventative Maintenance & Upgrades: Implement preventative maintenance measures to improve electrical systems and automation processes, and suggest upgrades where necessary.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of troubleshooting activities, program changes, and progress on electrical projects. Generate and submit performance reports for relevant stakeholders.
  • Must their own basic tools. Specialty tools will be provided.
