About The Position

West Fraser is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a team player with proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC5, Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000, Allen Bradley panel views, and Allen Bradley Communications (Device net & Ethernet). Experience with scanning and optimization systems within the Lumber Business (Baxley, USNR) and Process Network Communication Systems and Components (Ethernet & Fiber Optic) is also required. This role involves testing and inspecting electrical systems, troubleshooting and programming PLCs, working with vendors for parts, updating instrumentation loop diagrams and E&I drawings, programming variable speed drivers, updating power distribution systems, and installing electrical equipment. A minimum of 3 years of industrial electrician experience is necessary for troubleshooting, correcting, and maintaining electrical equipment in a manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Able to read and understand drawings and printed instructions
  • Self-starter who can work safely under high-pressure situations
  • 3 years of Industrial Electrician experience troubleshooting, correcting, and maintaining all electrical equipment within the manufacturing facility
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC5
  • Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000
  • Experience with Allen Bradley panel views
  • Experience with Allen Bradley Communications—Device net & Ethernet
  • Experience with Scanning and Optimization systems within the Lumber Business (Baxley, USNR)
  • Experience with Process Network Communication Systems and Components—Ethernet & Fiber Optic

Responsibilities

  • Test electrical systems and circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or repair
  • Troubleshoot, program, and upgrade Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Work with vendors to identify needed parts and recommend to Supervisor
  • Understand and update instrumentation loop diagrams, E & I drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Program AC & DC variable speed drivers
  • Update power distribution system, MCC, and switch gears
  • Install electrical equipment
