Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with successful completion of all requirements necessary to graduate from the Wilton Maintenance Training Program and/or successfully meeting the following requirements: Passing the proficiency tests for the various coursework of the Wilton Maintenance Training Program or Equivalent maintenance work experience in an industrial environment performing the technical requirements.
  • Open to working a rotating shift that includes days, afternoons, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all required regulatory/safety training and follow all safety rules and requirements, including maintaining a clean work area.
  • Receive wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions for scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work.
  • Provide general assistance in assessing all types of circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, adjust, calibrate, program, time, construct, modify, or service all types of electrical and electronic devices and systems, including communication systems, various mill and production equipment, electronic computing and control systems, power and distribution control equipment, measuring, recording, processing and control devices, indicating devices and gauges, etc.
  • Plan working procedures to identify material or replacement needs and select a logical approach to troubleshooting and repair problems. Answer trouble calls.
  • Make sketches of parts and layouts.
  • Assemble, install conduit, inspect, adjust, repair, or replace faulty parts and wiring on all types of electronic devices. Use test equipment and hand tools to locate and properly repair equipment to ensure it is operating safely, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Install conduit, switches, controls, and fixtures. Assist in the connection of all types of electrical or electronic equipment for new equipment installation or replacements.
  • Assist in the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of high voltage switch gear, cables, insulators, bushings, etc.
  • Utilize all required computer systems for planning, executing, and reporting.
  • Obtain certification in fork truck, various overhead cranes, man-lifts (scissor lifts), and other mobile equipment as required in maintenance activities.
  • Perform all other plant electrical maintenance as required.
  • Perform other duties and work assignments as required and directed.
  • Work with repair crews as directed.
