This location produces iconic cereal brands including Honey Bunches of Oats, PEBBLES, Grape-Nuts, and Honeycomb. The Battle Creek plant is also unique as it is home to the original barn where C.W. Post started the Postum cereal company in 1895. The Battle Creek team has deep community roots, supporting the city's Cereal Festival, The Post Foundation, and participating in several volunteer events throughout the year.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all duties with a minimum amount of supervision
  • Complete knowledge of, and compliance with, the most current revision of plant safety, sanitation and working rules
  • Complete knowledge of and current Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) certification for, Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid (FA), with training successfully completed per requirements ECC guidelines
  • Complete knowledge of appropriate application and utilization of personal protective equipment specific to the trade
  • Complete knowledge of appropriate application, utilization and care of equipment and/or tools used in the trade
  • Solid knowledge of, and proficiency in mathematical functions used in the trade
  • Use interpersonal skills to interact and work with others across the organization and in cross-functional teams
  • Strong knowledge of current technology, and desire to expand upon that knowledge as related to the trade
  • Willingness to participate in, or facilitate, trade related training as directed
  • Successful completion of High School education program or equivalent state certification
  • Successful Journeyman Electrical Apprenticeship or > 8000 hours documented in the Electrical field
  • Ability to pass relevant/required written, oral or hands-on training, peer review and the like
  • Understanding of the National Electric Code and its appropriate application
  • Strong understanding of Computer Systems operating on a window platform
  • Sufficient understanding of equipment operating at 600V and below to facilitate the maintenance and installation of such equipment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, replace, or rebuild a wide variety of industrial manufacturing equipment and systems including, but not limited to: HMI / PLC, Servo motors
  • Set up online communication between a laptop and HMI or PLC
  • Perform basic programming and editing (HMI/PLC)
  • Replace motors and cables (Servo motors)
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems on industrial manufacturing equipment
  • Maintain and repair electrical and heavy industrial mechanical equipment
  • Maintain and repair electrical equipment
  • Interpret drawings and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Replace equipment on existing electrical systems
  • Understand electrical wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Perform industrial electrical maintenance and troubleshooting in a manufacturing plant
  • Locate and repair trouble in wiring or electrical equipment
  • Install electrical components and systems
  • Identify basic electrical symbols and read electrical schematic diagrams
  • Isolate basic electrical control circuits
  • Shoot electrical systems and wiring and repair complex electrical and electronic equipment or machinery
  • Maintain all electrical and electronic equipment, and electrical power
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment
  • Interpret complex electrical wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Install various assemblies that require electrical wiring
  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls
  • Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment
  • Calibrate and repair electrical-pneumatic control systems
  • Maintain, install, and repair plant equipment electrical systems and facility electrical systems
