About The Position

This role involves installing and modifying electrical machinery, equipment, and circuitry in industrial or commercial plants. The electrician must be proficient in 3-phase electrical systems up to 480 volts or more, work with variable drives, read electrical schematics, and operate conventional gas ovens. Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical and machine malfunctions, collaborating with electrical engineers on developmental problems, and working with programmable logic/automation controls to ensure all electrical components adhere to standards. Mechanical experience is preferred for maintaining machinery and equipment, including presses, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. The role also requires managing electrical controls, circuits, high voltage distribution, panels, and understanding crane operation principles. Additionally, the electrician will determine dimensional requirements of parts, maintain continuity among work teams through documentation, and ensure machinery and mechanical equipment are operational for production and quality. Safety is paramount, and candidates must demonstrate leadership in upholding safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

  • Must know 3-phase electrical; up to 480 volts or more.
  • 3 years of experience as an industrial electrical technician in a manufacturing facility.
  • 3 years of experience programming PLC’s.
  • 3 years of experience with VFD.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Work on conventional gas ovens.
  • Diagnose cause of electrical or machine malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to solve developmental problems.
  • Work with programmable logic/automation controls.
  • Ensure all electrical components adhere to standards.
  • Complete preventive maintenance requirements on presses, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Manage electrical controls, circuits, high voltage distribution, and panels.
  • Understand principles of operating cranes.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
