About The Position

We are Techmer PM — the world’s foremost materials design firm, creating custom polymers that make up essential products. Through our long-standing partnerships with processors, original equipment manufacturers, and product designers, we’ve worked for decades to tackle manufacturing and business challenges through sustainable, future-minded solutions. We are currently seeking an Industrial Electrician for our Dalton, GA facility. This position will be on 1st shift which will be 8:00AM-6:30PM, Monday through Thursday. Pay rate is $32.00 per hour and up depending on experience.

Requirements

  • Completion of High School Diploma or GED
  • Five years of maintenance experience is required
  • Performing work requiring extensive knowledge of motor controls, troubleshooting, electrical schematics, and blueprints, including electronic theory and principles.
  • Working knowledge of three phase motors, programmable logic controls, motor controls circuits, computer interfaces, frequency drives, and National Electrical Code.
  • Must be able to read and create electrical ladder schematics and trouble shoot industrial controls.
  • Proficient at replacing and installing electrical components such as heaters, relays, switches, motors, circuit breakers, power wiring, conduit, and sensors.
  • Proficient at working with voltages, including 480 VAC, 277 VAC, 120 VAC volt controls, and 24 VDC controls.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, kneel, and climb stairs as required.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to work in an industrial/manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, heat, and mechanical equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school or apprenticeship in a skilled trade is preferred
  • California state certification preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Welding experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical components of industrial equipment such as motors, drives, PLC’s and controls.
  • Work as a team member or alone to complete projects.
  • Read and understand technical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Perform general electrical maintenance.
  • Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
  • Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.
  • Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
  • Circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
  • Install conduit and wireway duct.
