About The Position

Inland Empire Paper is a state-of-the-art paper manufacturing facility in Spokane, Washington. We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to plan and execute complex equipment maintenance. The selected candidate will work with other Maintenance and Operations personnel to safely and efficiently troubleshoot and repair process-related challenges by testing, tuning, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment in a heavy industrial environment. This includes low, medium, and high voltage AC and DC motors, motor controls, switchgear, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), as well as other heavy industrial equipment related to pulp and paper mill operations.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all work safely.
  • Can-do attitude.
  • 2 year degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent experience and/or apprenticeship.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of working in a heavy industrial environment (climbing ladders, climbing stairs, walking distances, working at heights, working in tight or enclosed spaces, inclement weather, temperature extremes).
  • Strong diagnostic skills and willingness to learn new equipment and procedures as needed.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Familiarization with the National Electrical Code.

Nice To Haves

  • Medium voltage experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Washington EL01 or EL07 preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute complex equipment maintenance.
  • Safely and efficiently troubleshoot and repair process-related challenges.
  • Test, tune, maintain, and repair electrical equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Install, start-up, test, inspect, repair, program, tune, maintain, and calibrate electrical equipment.
  • Work with low, medium, and high voltage AC and DC motors, motor controls, switchgear, PLCs, VFDs, and other heavy industrial equipment related to pulp and paper mill operations.
  • Collaborate with other Maintenance and Operations personnel.
