About The Position

The Industrial Electrician performs electrical/controls equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, installing new equipment according to code, and documenting work using a CMMS. The position requires working in various environments, including outdoors and confined spaces, and adhering to safety protocols. The electrician will work 8-hour shifts, with overtime and on-call rotation as needed.

Requirements

Journeyman or certification in Industrial Electricity or closely related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of electrician experience in the industrial electrical field.
High school diploma/GED.
Proficient in troubleshooting and repair of single and 3-phase equipment.
Proficient in National Electrical Code and NFPA codes.
Proficient in interpreting wiring diagrams and schematics.
Proficient in troubleshooting control circuits.
Able to perform technical work with programmable logic controllers (PLC's), motor control, and power distribution.
Fluent in English with the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and handling instructions, and procedure manuals.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work 8-hour shifts and overtime.
Demonstrated successful work history involving standing for prolonged periods, bending, stooping, and lifting, preferably in a production or process-oriented industry.
Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Performs electrical/controls equipment inspections and identifies needed work.
Performs electrical/controls preventive maintenance, including breaker servicing, infrared inspections, and time/condition-based replacements and calibrations.
Performs electrical troubleshooting and repair on motors, starters, control circuitry, transformers, and associated wiring using various tools and techniques.
Installs electrical service and control equipment for new process equipment, adhering to the National Electrical Code.
Uses the CMMS daily for documentation and feedback.
Works outdoors in a plant environment with exposure to noise and dust.
Enters confined spaces as required and in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
Climbs stairs and scaffolding.
Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
Works 8-hour shifts and overtime as required.
Performs other job-related duties assigned.
