About The Position

The Industrial Electrician performs electrical/controls equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, installing new equipment according to code, and documenting work using a CMMS. The position requires working in various environments, including outdoors and confined spaces, and adhering to safety protocols. The electrician will work 8-hour shifts, with overtime and on-call rotation as needed.

Requirements

  • Journeyman or certification in Industrial Electricity or closely related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of electrician experience in the industrial electrical field.
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repair of single and 3-phase equipment.
  • Proficient in National Electrical Code and NFPA codes.
  • Proficient in interpreting wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting control circuits.
  • Able to perform technical work with programmable logic controllers (PLC's), motor control, and power distribution.
  • Fluent in English with the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and handling instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work 8-hour shifts and overtime.
  • Demonstrated successful work history involving standing for prolonged periods, bending, stooping, and lifting, preferably in a production or process-oriented industry.
  • Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Performs electrical/controls equipment inspections and identifies needed work.
  • Performs electrical/controls preventive maintenance, including breaker servicing, infrared inspections, and time/condition-based replacements and calibrations.
  • Performs electrical troubleshooting and repair on motors, starters, control circuitry, transformers, and associated wiring using various tools and techniques.
  • Installs electrical service and control equipment for new process equipment, adhering to the National Electrical Code.
  • Uses the CMMS daily for documentation and feedback.
  • Works outdoors in a plant environment with exposure to noise and dust.
  • Enters confined spaces as required and in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Climbs stairs and scaffolding.
  • Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Works 8-hour shifts and overtime as required.
  • Performs other job-related duties assigned.
