POSITION SUMMARY: A strong team member will perform duties including but not limited to electrician and all aspects of mechanical maintenance. Team member will be able to troubleshoot issues to ensure all electrical and mechanical components are in good working order throughout the plant.

Requirements

  • Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field.
  • Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes.
  • Must have a telephone and be open to callouts.
  • Self-Motivated and must be able to work independently.
  • Good decision-making skills regarding safety.
  • Must be able to tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to high temperature, noise, and dust.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, blueprints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the lime industry.
  • Must perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ambitious to grow within Lhoist.
  • Must be able to tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to high temperature, noise, and dust.
  • Must be able to access all plant locations and perform the essential job duties of this position, including heavy lifting over 50 pounds.
  • This could include heights of 190 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 5+ years electrical experience, and demonstration of safe work practices.
  • Basic electrical and safety knowledge required.
  • Candidate must be able to pass an electrical assessment test and have a minimum of 200 hours logged working under the supervision of an Electrician.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in industrial background.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair parts on drives.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems and air cylinders.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs & control circuits.
  • Install and align electrical motors.
  • Set up & troubleshoot A/C drives.
  • Perform routine mechanical tasks such as replacement of bearings, idlers, dust collector bags, gearboxes, and drive belts.
  • Troubleshoot control circuits with limited supervision.
  • Perform basic electrical calculations.
  • Perform tasks with all electrical test equipment (multi meters, meggers, current generators, Hart communicator, etc.).
  • Fabricate and install conduit.
  • Perform soldering operations.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain motor control circuits.
  • Disassemble and rebuild all types of crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
  • Use equipment manuals, parts lists or blueprints to properly install, repair, or order parts.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs to hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain variable speed drives.
  • Troubleshoot kiln instrumentation.
  • Initiate work orders as required.
  • Ensure all inventory parts are correctly charged from warehouse.
  • Ensure all parts are available before starting job.
  • Operate extended forklift, manlift, or maintenance machinery to perform plant maintenance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance checks and report findings verbally and in writing.
  • Navigate and understand NEC code book.
  • Assist with routine mechanical tasks.
  • Be a mentor for B and C electricians.
  • Upgrade skills by participating in vendor and company-designated training.
  • Ensure work orders and checklists are complete accurately using the CMMS System.
  • Comply with company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Complete and document Workplace Inspections in a timely manner.
  • Ensure maintenance tools are kept in good condition, repaired or replaced when necessary.
