About The Position

Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and construction/erection of electrical systems in asphalt plants, aggregate plants, and shops throughout Pennsylvania. This hourly, non-exempt position will work with indirect supervision. The role involves constructing and leading crews for plant electrical system constructions/erections, providing leadership and guidance to team members, assisting in the design of plant flows and layout, and managing assigned projects. The position may also involve filling in for the Electrical Superintendent as directed. Key tasks include installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing motors, reading blueprints, installing and troubleshooting medium voltage equipment, performing various wiring practices, and maintaining motor controllers. The role also requires troubleshooting basic hydraulic and pneumatic systems and exercising proper care of company equipment. This position frequently requires working more than 40 hours per week and non-traditional hours, including night shifts, Saturdays, and occasionally Sundays. Additional assignments may be given by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical degree required.
  • MSHA Certification.
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to use fingers for fine manipulation of wiring, etc.
  • Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to dust, fumes, noise, extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.
  • Knowledge of processes in the asphalt and aggregate industry.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation on asphalt and aggregate plants.
  • Knowledge of latest maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of equipment reliability program.
  • Knowledge of Multi-Meter, Ammeter, Insulation Tester, Ground test meter, Tachometer.
  • Knowledge of NEC.
  • Knowledge of MSHA.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Baker surge tester.
  • Knowledge of PLC basics.
  • Ability to learn and follow GOH company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to learn control systems for the asphalt and aggregate industries.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid driver’s license for the state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of industrial electrical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
