About The Position

Silgan Containers is looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician / PLC Programmer to join our Plover, Wisconsin manufacturing team. This role involves troubleshooting, working with advanced controls, mentoring others, and taking ownership of electrical systems. As an Industrial Electrician / PLC Programmer, you will play a key role in keeping the manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently, using technical expertise to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and develop the next generation of electricians.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industrial electrical experience
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical systems
  • Strong PLC troubleshooting/programming experience
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs
  • Ability to mentor, train, and provide technical leadership to other electricians
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and electrical compliance
  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule, including days and nights

Responsibilities

  • Lead troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of complex industrial electrical systems
  • Mentor and train entry-level and journeyman electricians
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and support Allen-Bradley PLC systems
  • Oversee and support PLC programming and controls-related work
  • Develop and implement preventative electrical maintenance strategies
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
  • Ensure electrical installations, repairs, and modifications meet safety and compliance requirements
  • Partner with operations and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure proper electrical safety practices
