This role maintains all phases of electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment throughout the plant, safely and effectively, to meet organization requirements.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purpose.
  • Ability to recognize operational inconsistencies and hazards in the workplace and display proper judgment in responding to them.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructional manuals, instruction sheets, technical data, blueprints, work orders and mechanical drawings in English.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of occupational hazards connected with machine shop and general plant practices with emphasis on the necessity of safety policy compliance.
  • Able to work varying shifts, overtime, holidays, on call duty and emergency call-ins.
  • Communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repair of flow meters, PLC’s, VFD’s, transmitters, motors, switchgear and other process control equipment.
  • Minimum 2-year college degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as an electrical/electronic technician.
  • Instrumentation and PLC experience required

Responsibilities

  • Performs and directs all electrical maintenance, including but not limited to, preventative, corrective, emergency contracted, and warranty service, maintenance, on all equipment throughout the plant.
  • Identifies, repairs and documents electrical and instrumentation equipment malfunctions. Inputs software changes in PLC for equipment operation and control as required.
  • Conducts predictive analysis of all electrical and instrumentation systems and equipment periodically in order to update PM system and generate work orders.
  • Calibrates mechanical and electrical instrumentation and documents results.
  • Ensures completion of work orders based on schedule and priority or as required.
  • Monitors equipment on a regular basis and documents results.
  • Install and tests new equipment on accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and standard safety procedures.
  • Trains new employees on standard electrical safety and operating procedures, as required.
  • Supports all company and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Performs any general work or other assignments necessary to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the facility.
