About The Position

Okanagan Specialty Fruits LLC (OSF) is seeking an Industrial Electrician & Automation Tech for its Moses Lake apple processing facility. This position is critical as it will be key in supporting the automation, programming, and electrical needs of all the ML Campus facilities. This role will also provide preventive and reactive electrical and general maintenance and repairs for all production plant equipment; pneumatic, plumbing, electrical controls, robotics, conveyer systems and baggers/apple slicers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Proficient level experience with Programmable Logic Controllers, AC/DC theory, and Electrical and Instrumentation schematics understanding.
  • 2 years of training or associate’s degree in industrial Controls & Instrumentation, Electrical Construction & Maintenance, or related technical field.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word) relevant CMMS system.
  • The ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.
  • The ability to work in a safe manner and adhere to all local/state and federal safety guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Instrumentation & Industrial Automation Technology Certification and/or Manufacturing and Processing Technology Certification preferred
  • 2+ years maintenance experience in a food production/manufacturing environment
  • Welding experience MIG/TIG/STICK
  • PLC Certification in Siemens/Allan Bradley Controllers.
  • GMP & Food Safety Standard knowledge (BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard preferred)
  • Experience with pumps, motors, and conveyors is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all OSF electrical & instrumentation equipment: electrical safeties, cable and cable management, PLC’s, motor controllers, motors, switchgear, and electromechanical systems.
  • Support the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, instrumentation, and automation equipment.
  • Equipment corrections and running adjustments to maximize production efficiency and quality on all processing/packaging and product handling equipment.
  • Initiate/complete work orders for any repairs necessary to the facility or equipment.
  • Assist the department in maintaining spare parts inventory in an orderly manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (using CMMS) checks and inspections of all equipment.
  • Work closely with production staff to ensure safety of all employees and product safety during all maintenance activities.
  • Recommend improvements to the CMMS Program.
  • Complete all required workplace safety, quality assurance and food safety training within a set timeframe.
  • Earn and maintain Forklift Certification.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager to support the OSF team.
