About The Position

Mueller Sports Medicine (MSM) is seeking candidates who are academically strong with a passion for their field of study for an internship opportunity. This internship provides exposure to various aspects of the business, including marketing, innovation, purchasing, logistics, information technology (IT), finance and accounting, or customer service. Interns will have the chance to meet with associates, vendors, and customers to explore future career opportunities. MSM is willing to accommodate recordkeeping or evaluation requirements if the intern chooses to take the internship for credit.

Requirements

• Completed one year of post-high school education and enrolled for the fall semester at a technical college or four-year university.
• Pursuing a degree in a field of study related to the area of the internship.
• Have a grade point average sufficient to be considered in good academic standing.
• Ability to understand and comply with Mueller Safety Systems and current regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated team player with active participation in meetings.
• Strong planning and project management skills.
• Strong ability to transition efficiently from working independently to working collaboratively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including with the board.
• Develops and maintains interpersonal relationships.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Advanced use of Microsoft products, including Word, Outlook and Excel, and related industry applications.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the organization’s systems and data as well as client data.

Responsibilities

• Complete an assigned project requiring planning, research, prototyping, evaluation, presentation of findings and recommendations to the Executive team.
• Collaborate with industrial design, engineering, insights, marketing, purchasing, and external vendors to successfully complete the project.
• Assist with activities surrounding the physical product deliverable during the ideation and exploration phases of product development.
• Partner with engineering to complete CAD work to detail the design based on internal and external input.
• Present monthly status updates as part of our stage gate process.
• Perform administrative duties such as creation of design of experiments and consumer research, record keeping, and documentation.
• Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.
