This role involves handling walk-in and phone/electronic sales, building hose assemblies, managing inventory, and keeping the branch running smoothly as part of a tight-knit team. It's a great role for someone who is mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and thrives in a hands-on environment where no two days are exactly alike.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service and communication skills — comfortable with a wide variety of people and personalities.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced branch environment.
  • Willingness to learn product lines and participate in ongoing product training to build technical knowledge.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle industrial products; comfortable working in a warehouse/shop environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in industrial distribution, fluid power, or a related field — hydraulic hose, fittings, and Parker Hannifin product knowledge is a strong plus.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Mechanical background — familiarity with industrial or hydraulic equipment.
  • Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 or similar ERP/distribution software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist walk-in customers and respond to phone and electronic inquiries promptly — delivering the highest level of service and product knowledge on every interaction.
  • Provide technical product guidance on hose, fittings, hydraulic components, and related fluid power products — especially Parker Hannifin lines.

  • Collaborate with all branch departments and personnel to ensure customer satisfaction from order to delivery.
  • Receive incoming products — unloading, verifying, and receiving into the system accurately.
  • Pull, pick, allocate, and distribute product to proper locations within the branch.
  • Package and stage materials for shipping using shrink wrap, boxing, and labeling; ship via national carriers and customer vehicles.
  • Assist with inventory control, cycle counting, and quality control to ensure damaged product is never received or sent.
  • Operate a forklift as needed following required safety orientation and certification.
  • Build small to large hose assemblies and operate swaging equipment to customer specifications.
  • Perform kitting, fabrication, and complex machinery operation as required for production orders.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area at all times in compliance with company policies.
