About The Position

We are hiring for an Industrial Controls Technician to join our maintenance team here at Catallia Mexican Foods! This is a hands-on position and will require that the individual to troubleshoot, service, repair, adjust automated equipment and building systems. Specifically Industrial Food Processing Equipment in the making of tortillas. This will include troubleshooting of Electrical (5vdc to 480vac), Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Mechanical Systems. Very strong automation equipment knowledge. This individual will be responsible for contributing to a consistent, safe, and productive work environment and adhering to operational and personnel policies and procedures. With a focus on the success of the overall operation, the individual will work closely with the maintenance team to handle repairs of automated equipment and other scheduled maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of technical certification in maintenance mechanics, electricity, electronics, or 3-4 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience in a food production or bakery environment.
  • Experience with automated equipment with a high mechanical aptitude.
  • TIG welding and fabrication skills required.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical control with the use of a voltmeter, sensors, motors, etc.
  • Proficiency in equipment evaluation, troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to identify problems and react appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to an effective, predictive, and preventative maintenance program (including troubleshooting, repair, modification, and installation of equipment) in order to improve production efficiency and ensure optimum machine time availability.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of Robotics, Automated Processing Equipment, HVAC systems, Refrigeration Systems, other plant operational systems, and their Electrical (5 VDC to 480 VAC), Hydraulic, and Pneumatic systems.
  • Regularly inspect plant facilities, production support systems, and equipment to support effective plant operations.
  • Respond to “line calls” from production to assist with the uptime of the equipment.
  • Occasionally communicate and work with outside contractors.
  • Maintain facility and equipment for safety (food and teammate) issues and respond appropriately.
  • Contribute to a fully operational maintenance shop by communicating needs and keeping the area neat and organized.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance team members from other shifts to ensure clarity and continuity.
  • Follow instructions as directed by the Maintenance Manager or a designate of the Maintenance Manager.
  • Promote all plant safety, GMP’s and food safety policies and procedures
  • Actively participate in Food Safety and Food Defense related activities
  • Perform additional duties as directed.
