Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus an apprenticeship or similar training (required).
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance with deep automation/controls exposure.
  • Comfort with Microsoft applications, Outlook, SAP, etc.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Electrical Standards and NEC.
  • Analytical, systematic troubleshooter with strong logic for root‑cause resolution.
  • Self‑motivated, communicates clearly, and makes sound decisions under deadlines.

  • Associate’s degree in maintenance or industrial technology (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example on EHS: act immediately on unsafe conditions/behaviors, participate in root‑cause investigations, and turn lessons learned into prevention.
  • Calibrate, adjust, and repair production equipment and instruments to maintain peak performance.
  • Diagnose complex issues across PLCs/HMIs/motor drives; Allen‑Bradley expertise is required along with proficiency in at least one other platform (Mitsubishi, Schneider, GE, Opto, etc.).
  • Modify and verify ladder logic to implement improvements and corrective actions.
  • Install and upgrade electrical/electronic systems, including drives and programmable controllers.
  • Apply AC vector and servo drive knowledge for commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Work confidently with AC/DC circuits and sinking/sourcing I/O; leverage basic hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical concepts, and foundational PC hardware know‑how.
  • Read and maintain drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and specifications; utilize CAD tools (e.g., AutoCad, Vizio).
  • Stay on top of emerging automation/control technologies and best practices.
  • Use PDCA and other CI methods to reach true root cause and implement durable solutions.
  • Serve as senior technical support for shift electricians; deliver training to all levels of the organization.
  • Direct contractors effectively to minimize planned and unplanned downtime.
  • Own technical procedures, manuals, and drawing control, including accurate as‑built records for equipment and process changes.
