Industrial Controls Engineer
About The Position
CFD Research Corporation is seeking an experienced industrial controls engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in the design, development, and integration of complex systems for our customers. In this role you will support both rapid prototyping and detailed hardware development. This individual will work with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and support all aspects of control system design, development, and test. This role is based out of our Engineering Test Center in Hollywood, AL. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial motor control system automation, Rockwell Automation PLC hardware, and supporting electrical system knowledge.
Requirements
- US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant ABET-accredited STEM degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Rockwell Automation PLC Programming.
- Working knowledge of Studio 5000 and Factory Talk software.

- Knowledge of National Instruments DAQ systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, development, and integration of complex systems for customers.
- Support rapid prototyping and detailed hardware development.
- Coordinate and support all aspects of control system design, development, and test.

- Supporting electrical system knowledge.
- Motor control center design, layout, integration, and test.
- Low voltage (LV) to medium voltage (MV) Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and programmable logic controller (PLC) integration.
- Testing and debugging of PLC control system.
- Establish network communications and remote Windows workstations.
- Electrical system design, layout, integration, and test.
- Developing and interpreting electrical schematics.
- Working in a prototyping environment.
- Adhering to applicable safety codes.
