About The Position
We are seeking a Controls & Automation Engineer to support and enhance manufacturing systems within a regulated production environment. This role is responsible for maintaining automation infrastructure, assisting with capital initiatives, and ensuring systems operate efficiently while meeting compliance standards. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners while also taking ownership of assigned systems and projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field
- 5–10 years of experience working with industrial automation or control systems
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems
- Familiarity with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial electrical components
- Experience troubleshooting industrial control systems and networks
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Nice To Haves
- Experience in regulated or cGMP environments is preferred
Responsibilities
- Support automation and controls projects from initial planning through final execution
- Assist with project scope definition, scheduling, vendor coordination, and technical requirements
- Program, configure, and test PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and drive technologies
- Provide support for electrical systems related to automation projects
- Identify and resolve issues within PLC-based systems and SCADA platforms
- Troubleshoot drives, instrumentation, control panels, and industrial communication networks
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system reliability and performance
- Maintain automation systems in a validated and compliant state
- Support system documentation, backups, and data integrity practices
- Assist with upgrades, recovery processes, and vendor coordination
- Participate in change control processes for system updates and improvements
- Help establish and maintain control system standards
- Provide support during audits and technical evaluations
- Follow all safety procedures and cGMP requirements
- Complete required compliance and technical training programs
