About The Position

Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is currently accepting applications for an Industrial Control Systems Supervisor position. The class of Industrial Control Systems Supervisor is the supervisory class in the series and reports to the Control and Electrical Systems Manager or other higher-level personnel. Under direction, this class is responsible for supervising the maintenance of complex process instrumentation and control systems incorporating pneumatic, electric, and electronic components, analog and digital networks, analysis instruments, computer control equipment including computers and computer peripherals and software and telemetry equipment. Responsibilities require direct personal involvement in the solution of unusual or difficult maintenance problems. The Industrial Control System Supervisor is distinguished from the Control and Electrical Systems Manager in that the latter has full managerial authority over the Control and Electrical Systems groups, which include the Control Systems, the Electrical Systems, and the Plant Computer Control Systems.

Requirements

  • Completion of 30 semester (45 quarter) units, from an accredited college or university in instrumentation, electronics, computer systems, control systems or other closely related field.
  • Five years of full-time paid experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of industrial instrumentation, control or communication system components involving the application of physical, chemical, and electronic principles.
  • At least one year of which shall have dealt with the maintenance of digital equipment.
  • Two years of this experience must have been at the lead level.
  • Possession of an Electrical & Instrumentation Technology (EIT) certification issued by California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Grade 4.
  • Six years of full-time paid experience in the operations, maintenance, and repair of industrial instrumentation, control of communication system components involving the application of physical, chemical, and electronic principles.
  • At least one year of which shall have dealt with the maintenance of digital equipment.
  • Two years of this experience must have been at the lead level.
  • Possession of an Electrical & Instrumentation Technology (EIT) certification issued by California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Grade 4.

Nice To Haves

  • An AA/AS degree, from an accredited college or university in instrumentation, computers electronics or other closely related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
