About The Position

The Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Automation Specialist II performs advanced technical work on PLCs, OITs, and control panels, including programming and logic modifications. Independently troubleshoots complex automation issues, implements changes, and ensures compliance with established standards. Collaborates with engineering teams and vendors to support upgrades and maintain system reliability. This position requires the employee to work on-site at our Huntsville, TX office. Relocation assistance is not available. Candidates must reside within commuting distance or be willing to relocate at their own expense. Essential personnel are required to report to work when scheduled during departmental and/or emergency situations, including, but not limited to, extended periods of inclement weather when travel may be difficult. This position is essential because in the absence of sufficient personnel, the plant cannot operate safely.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience with PLC programming and industrial automation systems.
• Valid driver’s license.
• ISA CCST (Certified Control Systems Technician) Analyst Level II required or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Allen-Bradley and/or Schneider PLC platforms.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial networking.
• Basic network troubleshooting skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Water/Wastewater experience preferred.
• Additional certifications such as GICSP or vendor specific PLC certifications (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Schneider) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform programming and logic modifications for PLCs and OITs.
• Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues.
• Ensure compliance with TRA standards and cybersecurity requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, operations, and vendors for system upgrades and integration.
• Lead and manage in-house upgrades and new installations.
• Report to work when scheduled during departmental and/or emergency situations, including extended periods of inclement weather.
