About The Position

The Industrial Cleaning Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and operational readiness across facility areas including trailers, restrooms, workstations, exterior grounds, and specialized equipment areas. This role ensures all cleaning activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and project-specific requirements. Employees in this role are required to always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed for the task and environment. Required PPE may include but is not limited to nitrile or latex gloves, glove liners, plastic aprons, blue boot covers, steel-toe or composite-toe footwear (ankle height), hard hats, safety vests, safety glasses, hair nets, beard nets, hoods, cleanroom suits, and any other required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or general cleaning roles is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Capability to lift and carry moderate loads (e.g., cleaning supplies, trash bags).
  • Comfortable working on ladders or elevated platforms when necessary.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust).

Responsibilities

  • Remove and dispose of trash from general areas into designated dumpsters.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures.
  • Restock restroom supplies such as paper products and soap dispensers.
  • Perform break room cleaning including wiping counters, sinks, and fixtures, restocking supplies, and removing trash.
  • Manage tack mats by removing used layers and applying new sheets.
  • Restock and dispose of blue disposable shoe covers.
  • Remove exterior debris and maintain cleanliness of surrounding grounds.
  • Mop and clean floors to remove dust and residue as established.
  • Clean chemical trenches by removing debris and sweeping as requested.
  • Clean workstations (trailers and slurry Remote Command Station) by wiping surfaces to remove dust and buildup as requested.
  • Monthly Cleaning Duties: Remove debris and sweep non-built-out or future equipment areas.
  • Clean exterior surfaces of equipment cabinets to remove dust buildup.
  • Project-Based / As-Needed Duties: Clean gas bunkers, including mopping floors and wiping cabinet exteriors.
  • Perform exterior pressure washing (e.g., removal of bird droppings and grime in designated areas such as loading docks).
  • Conduct internal equipment cleaning under engineering direction.
  • Assist with cobweb removal using ladders, extension poles, and use of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP), if required.
  • Perform duct and overhead piping cleaning (working at heights).
  • Complete chemical containment cleaning as approved.
  • Clean tanks and pressure vessels were accessible without scaffolding.
