About The Position

The Industrial Cleaning Technician is responsible for the overall cleanliness of tile, carpet, flooring concrete, and pavers at The Emerald Grande and Harborwalk Village. The role performs cleaning and maintenance work using specialized equipment, keeps the shop and equipment clean and ready, and completes general physical tasks or other duties as assigned. The position requires flexibility to work a.m. and/or p.m. and rotating shifts during the busy season.

Requirements

• Previous knowledge of carpet, tile, and concrete cleaning, and pressure washing.
• Attention to detail and ability to ensure cleanliness.
• Confidence in the safe operation of heavy equipment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact harmoniously with guests and coworkers; customer service must be a priority.
• Ability to handle multiple operational demands professionally, often under time-sensitive deadlines.
• Competence using computers and willingness to use the work order system daily.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and to write simple and/or complex correspondence.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions using common sense, and to solve problems.
• Availability to work on workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays; rotating shift work is required during the busy season.
• Valid driver's license held for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.
• Must follow applicable safety rules, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and comply with the Company's Safety Policy.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English, including reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Clean carpet using carpet extractors.
• Spot clean flooring and furniture.
• Use buffers and hard-surface cleaners to clean tile.
• Drive a Zamboni to sweep and clean pavers and the parking garage.
• Pressure wash flooring, balconies, and the exterior building.
• Paint areas where old paint has faded or chipped.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the shop and equipment.
• Execute general physical tasks as directed by department leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
