About The Position

Rasmussen Mechanical Services is seeking a skilled Industrial Boiler/Burner Service Technician with at least five (5) years of proven experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. In this role, you will perform service calls, installations, and maintenance on industrial burners, boilers, boiler controls, feedwater units, pumps, valves, softeners, and related system components. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of industrial projects, lead on-site efforts, and provide training and mentorship to junior technicians�all while representing Rasmussen�s commitment to safety, integrity, teamwork, responsiveness, and fun.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of documented experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of: Burners and gas train components
  • Strong knowledge of: Boiler controls and electrical systems (motors, solenoids, relays, switches, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of: Mechanical fluid system components
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with proven relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with teams and customers.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with office software and digital reporting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
  • Industry certifications and state licenses required (with continuing education as applicable).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service calls and troubleshooting on burners (gas, oil, methane, propane, etc.), boiler controls, pumps, valves, and related system equipment.
  • Support projects including boiler installations, burner installations, and auxiliary equipment installations.
  • Respond to emergency service needs, including occasional out-of-town travel, weekends, holidays, and after-hours assignments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation: daily time reports, service reports, job safety analysis, and material check-in/out sheets.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of company service vehicle.
  • Manage and lead on-site crews, including subcontractors, ensuring safe and efficient progress of work.
  • Mentor and train junior team members to develop their technical skills.
  • Attend ongoing training programs and maintain state-required licenses and certifications.
  • Collaborate with other departments and divisions as needed to provide seamless customer service.
