Design plant’s electrical projects, maintain, develop, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in a dynamic environment subject to frequent changes in demand and project priorities. This position manages electrical systems, troubleshoots and maintains facilities control panels regarding power distribution, including motor control, motors, and overload protection. It involves PLC programming and networking, line and conveyor speed setup, and adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC) while installing and troubleshooting equipment. The role requires deciphering blueprints, drawings, and schematics, and engineering Industrial Control Systems to meet safety standards, including designing and assembling PLCs and operator interface programming for control panels. The position ensures control systems meet recognized standards such as IEEE, ISO, ISA, ANSI, IEC, and NEC, and maintains the facility’s electrical design and configuration control. It also involves preparing conceptual and detailed designs and analysis for digital systems, electrical project management, reviewing capital project plans, providing feedback on execution, and preparing cost estimates. The role is responsible for submitting work requisitions, monitoring component arrival, ensuring quality and safety standards, and coordinating with maintenance and production teams. Additionally, it involves recommending measures to increase performance by understanding and comparing industrial process measurements and controls, providing technical expertise, and conducting training for controls and electrical systems. The position requires participation as a team member, fostering cohesiveness, and supporting Simmons' operating systems principles and objectives.
