About The Position

The Eastman Community Music School (ECMS), a division of the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester, provides music lessons, ensembles, and classes to community members of all ages and backgrounds. ECMS serves approximately 1,600 students during the school year and hundreds more each summer. ECMS offers programs from pre-school and early childhood to college prep and diploma programs, as well as adult ensembles and classes, aiming to nurture and inspire students at all levels.

Requirements

• Proven record as an outstanding teacher and performer
• Expertise in the area of Indonesian Dance performance and repertoire
• Ability to teach students of all ages and levels
• Involvement in national professional organizations

Nice To Haves

• Degree in the dance area, or equivalent professional experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Teach Indonesian Dance Class
• Teach Individual Dance lessons
• Communicate effectively, and in a timely manner with ECMS Dean and Director, Department Chair, colleagues, and ECMS staff
• Attend all Full Faculty and Department meetings as required
• Strong desire to recruit students
