We have an exciting opportunity for an Individual Therapist to join our team of talented professionals in the Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO) program. This position offers a $3,000 sign on bonus! We have a market-based compensation structure. The estimated salary for this position will vary based on a candidate's transferable work experience and qualifications. The salary is just one component of total compensation including a comprehensive benefit package of affordable medical plans, employer paid dental, vision and long-term disability, 401(K) with employer contribution, flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent, paid time off, 11 paid holidays, free license supervision and eligibility for biweekly incentives.

Requirements

  • Must have a Master’s Degree or higher and be a Psychologist (TLLP, LLP, or LP) TLLP supervised by a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC or LPC) LLPC supervised by a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or Limited Licensed Master's Social Worker (LLMSW) supervised by a Licensed Master's Social Worker, and must possess and retain current licensure in the State of Michigan.
  • Must meet Michigan Department of Community Health requirements of a Child Mental Health Professional within 120 days of hire.
  • A nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of individual families, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with families, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other providers, effective interpersonal communication skills, the ability to assess and intervene within complex family and community systems, and a willingness to be flexible, patient and creative.
  • Must have a favorable driving record and be able to obtain a chauffeur’s license within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly individual therapy to TFCO youth utilizing the TFCO treatment model. This includes introducing new behavioral coping and social skills and practices these in sessions utilizing strategic positive reinforcement and coaching interventions
  • Participate in the development of IPOS for program youth.
  • Engage participants to identify and overcome barriers to engagement;
  • Develop therapeutic relationships with youth in the program;
  • Provide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with TFCO model;
  • Provide individual therapy;
  • Coordinate services with mental health and medical professionals, including psychiatrists, physicians, and nurses;
  • Facilitate collateral contacts with representatives from schools and other community organizations on behalf of children and families;
  • Advocate on behalf of families to help them meet their needs and achieve their desired level of independence and self-sufficiency;
  • Help to identify and eliminate barriers to services;
  • Help to enhance existing community services and develop new services based on the needs of families;
  • Work collaboratively with a team of professionals and paraprofessionals;
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with people and organizations in the community;
  • Make referrals to Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services as needed;
  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, case consultations and training as needed;
  • Complete clinical documentation in an timely manner consistent with policies and procedures of The Guidance Center; develop, maintain and review complete case records;
  • Provide individual, family and group therapy; crisis intervention; case management;
  • Other duties as required or assigned.
