About The Position

The Individual Placement (IP) Supervisor provides leadership and oversight to Floater Job Coaches in the delivery of individualized, one-to-one supports for adults with disabilities working in the community and/or participating in Tailored Day Services. This role ensures that services across the Individual Placement (IP), Paid Internship Program (PIP), and Tailored Day Services (TDS) programs are person-centered, goal-driven, and aligned with each individual’s approved service plan. The IP Supervisor directs and supports Floater Job Coaches in consistently implementing individualized supports, with a strong emphasis on maintaining thorough knowledge of each participant’s approved activities, service plans, preferred schedules, and personal goals. Additionally, the IP Supervisor promotes job retention and long-term success for individuals in IP, as well as those in PIP seeking to transition into IP, by ensuring appropriate workplace supports are in place, proactively addressing challenges, and fostering positive, collaborative relationships among participants, staff, and employers. The position also ensures compliance with program standards, maintains high-quality service delivery, and supports staff performance to achieve sustainable employment and community integration outcomes.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Social Services or a related field with a minimum of two years of experience working with adults with disabilities
Minimum of two years of experience in a lead or supervisory role, with demonstrated experience in staff supervision, scheduling, performance management, and team leadership within vocational, employment, or human services settings.
Knowledge of Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and Regional Center service models.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing program needs.
Exhibits sound critical thinking and decision-making skills to assess situations, resolve challenges effectively, and implement practical solutions, while maintaining flexibility and professionalism in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Microsoft Teams, and Canva, with the ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize service documentation and data management systems.
Must possess a valid California driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record, and provide proof of current vehicle insurance and registration.
Must have access to safe, reliable transportation that meets all required vehicle safety inspections and standards.
Willingness to transport program participants in a personal vehicle is required.

Nice To Haves

CPR/First Aid certification; training may be provided for candidates who do not currently hold certification preferred (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

Supervise and support Floater Job Coaches delivering Department of Rehabilitation and Regional Center Funded services.
Provide daily guidance, coaching, and mentoring to Floater Job Coaches to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality person-centered supports.
Conduct regular staff check-ins, field observations, and individualized support sessions to enhance service quality, reinforce best practices, and support ongoing professional development.
Ensure effective onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing Floater Job Coaches, including on systems such as Case Magic, Microsoft Teams, When I Work, and ADP, with follow-up as needed.
Review, approve, and ensure accuracy and compliance of Floater Job Coach documentation, including service notes, schedules, and adherence to safety protocols and program requirements.
Monitor and manage staff performance by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), attendance, and punctuality; conduct performance appraisals, provide regular feedback, and implement corrective action or disciplinary measures in accordance with company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accountability and consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Actively monitor service delivery and guide staff in effective implementation, track participant progress in collaboration with Case Managers, and support the achievement of measurable, meaningful outcomes.
Coordinate and adjust staff schedules to address participant needs, staff absences, and emergent situations.
Respond to logistical issues and field challenges that arise during each shift to ensure continuity of services and consistent, high-quality support across work and community settings.
Monitor and enforce safety practices, provide immediate response and support for incidents, and document and report concerns in accordance with Oparc protocols and regulatory requirements.
Serve as the primary point of contact during each scheduled shift for Floater Job Coach reassignment needs; assess coverage gaps, reassign staff as necessary, and update all schedule changes in When I Work in real time.
Collect, review, and enter all weekly Individual Placement (IP) schedules into When I Work to ensure accurate staffing and support the Program Manager in effectively scheduling Job Coaching coverage.
Monitor service delivery to ensure it aligns with individual service plans, person-centered goals, and funding source expectations.
Support staff in individualizing services to effectively meet each participant’s unique needs, preferences, strengths, and employment goals by providing guidance on person-centered practices, adapting supports and strategies, and ensuring services remain responsive to changing needs and workplace expectations.
Collaborate with the Employment Services Program Manager and Case Management team to promote goal achievement and high-quality employment outcomes.
Ensure timely and professional communication with staff, participants, employers, and funding agency contacts as needed.
Collect and review service documentation to ensure accuracy, completion, and alignment with funding agency requirements.
Participate in participant meetings (e.g., IDTs, IEPs) as needed to represent employment services and Floater Job Coach supports.
Conduct monthly facility, vehicle, and case note audits to ensure compliance with program standards, safety requirements, and documentation expectations; identify discrepancies or missing documentation, follow up with staff to ensure timely completion and accuracy, and provide guidance and corrective support to strengthen accountability and overall service quality.
Maintain accurate monthly records of IP schedules, wages earned, and hourly rates to ensure the complete and timely submission of the DS1972 report to DDS by the 15th of each month.
Host staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities for all Floater Job Coaches in collaboration with the Supported Employment Group Supervisor and Employment Services Program Manager.
Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Employment Services Program Manager.
Maintain a working knowledge of Department of Rehabilitation, Regional Center and Oparc policies and procedures, and model adherence to these standards through consistent, ethical, and professional practices, reinforcing expectations for staff and ensuring compliance in all aspects.
Adhere to the proper care and responsible use of Oparc issued property, tools, and equipment.
Ensure ongoing compliance with Oparc and CARF accreditation standards by maintaining audit-ready documentation, monitoring service delivery practices, and participating in internal and external reviews, including CARF surveys and Regional Center audits.
Supports continuous quality improvement by tracking program outcomes, implementing corrective action plans, training and supporting staff on CARF-aligned practices, and ensuring services reflect person-centered principles, community integration, and meaningful employment opportunities.
