About The Position

The Individual Giving Manger - Regional Chapter generates philanthropic revenue for Minnesota Public Radio through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of midlevel, major, and planned gifts in markets outside the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Metro area. This role will work collaboratively with MPR’s Philanthropic Development teams, Net Station Managers, and Volunteers to drive positive member experiences and grow revenue from Leadership Circle households in one or more regional markets. Expected Compensation Range: $78,000 -$85,000 USD annualized. Exact rate determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity. Work Location: St. Paul, MN - or - The Red River Valley Region of MN – comprised of Moorhead, MN and surrounding northwestern Minnesota communities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in non-profit fundraising.
  • Experience with and solid understanding of Salesforce or other CRM system.
  • Fluency in MS Office Suite and SharePoint:Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, etc.
  • Experience with event planning and management; volunteer management.
  • Proven ability to build effective professional relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative member of the Development and Membership teams across Minnesota Public Radio.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining relationships, including an aptitude for engaging and motivating donors and prospects, while achieving bottom-line results.
  • Enthusiastic and determined fundraiser with a record of meeting / exceeding revenue targets.
  • Experience working with diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated creativity, adaptability, and flexibility to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated success working within cross-functional teams.
  • Integrity to maintain a high degree of confidentiality in an information-rich environm ent.

Responsibilities

  • Manage identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a dynamic portfolio of approximately 500-600 donors and prospects who give between $1,200 and $25,000 annually.
  • Identify donors’ passions and interests, build relationships, and leverage those relationships into meaningful support opportunities.
  • Develop and implement regional-specific communication, event, stewardship, engagement, and solicitation strategies that grow revenue, meet annual goals, and deepen donors’ generosity.
  • Collaboratively Identify and cultivate new members as well as upgrade existing members to higher giving levels within the Leadership Circle and Presidents’ Circle.
  • Works within the database to track communication, view data, and assist in analyzing data to inform and prioritize individuals and strategies.
  • Solicit gifts through highly personalized solicitation plans for donations over $10,000 which may include sustaining gifts, cash gifts, gifts of stock, donor advised fund giving, bequests, beneficiary designations, and other popular charitable giving opportunities.
  • Develops professional expertise by participating in professional development, reading professional publications, seeking out information related to philanthropic trends and public policy, networking to understand and incorporate best practices, and other activities that result in innovative fundraising strategies.
